A Homecoming Thirty-Nine Years in the Making
Forty Years Later
Memorial High School opened its doors in the heart of McAllen in the 1960s, and the building has stood witness to four generations of Mustangs. In the spring of 1987, our class walked across that stage — some of us heading to college, some to jobs at HEB and the Valley Cattle Co., some into the Army, some to places we hadn't yet imagined. Thirty-nine years later, we've built careers, raised kids (and a few grandkids), lost some of our own, and watched the Rio Grande Valley change around us. One weekend this October, we come home to celebrate each other — the friendships that survived, the memories that still make us laugh, and the classmates we haven't seen in decades. Pull up a chair. The cafeteria isn't what it used to be, but we still are.
